What is the Subsidy Fund?

The Subsidy Fund was originally established in the late 1980s through a generous
bequest from a member who wanted to ensure that financial hardship—especially due
to the impact of HIV/AIDS — would not prevent others from participating in Out & Out
events.

In 1994, the Fund was formalized and continues to this day with a strong commitment to
building an inclusive, supportive community within the Club.
Subsidies are available to help cover the cost of membership, member-led activities and
club events for those experiencing financial hardship who might otherwise be unable to
participate.

The Fund is supported through generous donations from Out & Out members who want to help as many as possible have access to the Club.

How can I apply for a Subsidy?

Membership subsidies are available to cover up to 50% of the Club’s annual
membership fee.

Activity subsidies are available to cover up to 66% of the cost for member-led
activities costing $100 or more.

Jamboree subsidies are available to cover up to 66% of the registration fee. 

To apply for a Jamboree subsidy, complete the Jamboree registration form. The subsidy application form is integrated with the registration form — once your registration is submitted, your subsidy application will be automatically forwarded to the Subsidy Committee. The deadline for Jamboree subsidy applications was July 14, 2025.
